The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that offers work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management. Progression to management may occur within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on experience and performance.
Responsibilities
An MIT is part of the management team, expected to Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance. Under the Store Manager's supervision, the MIT will lead a store team through strong leadership and initiative.
* Support overall store management, including policy implementation
* Manage financials, analyze and reconcile monthly P&L statements
* Handle staffing, training, and development
* Oversee inventory management
* Lead customer service efforts
MITs will complete operational and management training, learning about the business and AutoZone culture. Performance and progression through the training are essential for continued consideration for management roles.
Note: Promotion to Store Manager/Commercial Sales Manager is not guaranteed and depends on various factors including performance and job availability.
Requirements
* 1-2 years of retail management or supervisory experience
* Full-time flexible schedule, including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime
* Bilingual preferred but not required
* Automotive experience and financial analysis experience are preferred but not required
