St Mary's Primary School is a two form entry school with a nursery. We are an inclusive and nurturing school family, in the heart of a village community and looking for a friendly, aspirational, kind, skilled and professional person to join our team.
We are looking for an additional Special Education Needs teacher with experience of children with Autism and ADHD, for a fixed term period, up to the end of the academic year, with the possibility to extend further. A specific role to teach a small group of children who have a high level of additional needs The ratio will will be 1:5 with the support of a full time teaching assistant. Working hours can be flexible, we require a minimum of 4 days each week.

Purpose
•To provide excellent teaching and enjoyable learning for the children.
•To manage or assist in the development of a curriculum area throughout the school.
Responsibilities
•To adhere to our safeguarding policies to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.
•To meet, share ideas and plan collaboratively with members of the team and ensure enjoyment, continuity and progression for all.
•To effectively deploy support staff.
•To implement and maintain the school’s pastoral care and behaviour policy, considering the mental health and emotional wellbeing needs of each child.
•To meet the academic needs of all children.
•To be a reflective practitioner and proactive in seeking CPD opportunities.
Teaching and Learning
•To demonstrate excellent practice in terms of classroom teaching, learning and organisation.
•To assess pupils in line with the school policy.
•To ensure the best possible outcomes for all learners across the curriculum including vulnerable groups.
Strategic Development
•To manage or assist in developing policy and practice, leading the work of colleagues in a specified subject in order to promote effective teaching and learning for all children.
