Solicitor / CILEX Lawyer / Experienced Paralegal - Vehicle Hire Fraud. We are expanding our market-leading Fraud team within CSG and looking for passionate legal professionals to join the Vehicle Hire Fraud team in Birmingham. The Fraud team is a multi-award-winning group known for defending complex insurance fraud claims, from pre-litigation to high-stakes litigation, working with clients and law enforcement agencies such as IFED and Regional Fraud Teams.
Department: CSG - Casualty (EL/PL / CAT PI / Disease / Fraud / Motor / Credit Hire). Location: Birmingham. Application Deadline: 28 November 2025.
What you will do
* Manage a caseload of predominantly litigated claims with fraud concerns on behalf of major UK insurers.
* Investigate and defend against a wide spectrum of vehicle hire fraud types, including phantom hire, exaggerated claims, and claims submitted without the policyholder’s knowledge, as well as traditional motor fraud types (e.g., staged, induced, phantom passenger claims).
* Identify fraud indicators, develop case strategies, and provide commercially focused legal advice to support anti-fraud objectives.
* Work across multiple clients under Delegated and Non-Delegated authority agreements, with support from experienced leaders.
* Collaborate with clients and law enforcement, and contribute to safeguarding the industry from fraudulent practices.
* Maintain client relationships, meet billing targets, and support marketing and client training initiatives.
Who you are
* Solicitor, CILEX Lawyer, or Experienced Paralegal with litigation experience within vehicle/credit hire and/or personal injury.
* Understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules; strong communicators and negotiators.
* Able to think laterally and analytically; able to work independently and collaboratively with a commercial mindset.

* Fraud experience is a bonus but not essential; full training will be provided to defend complex insurance claims.
