Due to the continued growth of the business, we now require an Engineering Director who will be responsible for managing and developing the Engineering department across 3 sites in the UK, Bulgaria and Malaysia, overseeing a team of 20 employees. You will report to the COO and be based from our UK Head Office in Frimley but travel to our other sites will be required on occasion. We are a well established and successful engineering company who continue to grow. We are a manufacturer and supplier of our products to industries including defence, energy and marine. We can offer a salary up to £100k plus discretionary bonus and benefits. As the Engineering Director, you will manage all engineering deliverables of the “Non-Standard orders” as we are offering personalization of our designs to support customers’ needs. 25% of our orders require some redesign, ranging from small customization to full redesign. Your main duties will be:- Propose and deploy the Engineering strategy, Develop supporting processes and systems, Manage Engineering teams across our 3 engineering sites (UK, Bulgaria, Malaysia) Develop adequate skills to ensure performance of the engineering department deliverables (On-Time, Quality, Cost). In order to be successful you MUST have the relevant Experience in leading a team and the engineering process in an Engineering organization in a regulated industry. Experience in the design and support of technological products mixing Mechanical and Electrical/Electronical technologies preferably in a small to medium batch for Industrial, Aerospace, medical and/or defence sectors. You should hold a Degree or HNC in Engineering. Ideally you will have Experience in using and structuring CAD and data management system software. Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and configuration control. Knowledge of ISO9001. Knowledge of metrology concepts. A Master’s or PhD degree in engineering. Any Experience in implementing CAD, Data Management system and link with ERP, Experience with industrial instrumentation and sensors, Experience and knowledge of Defence and SIL requirements or Functional Safety experience is an advantage but not essential.
