Our client are a globally operating commercial Real Estate organisation, who work to deliver best-in-class facilities management and engineering solutions for their customers commercial and residential property portfolios. They currently seek an experienced engineering services or technical manager to join their property team, and based at a high profile multi tenant tower building in Canary Wharf. Working on a Monday-Friday basis, the role will provide engineering oversight and support to the property services team across electrical, mechanical and general HVAC systems, helping to liaise between tenants and stakeholders, as well as outsourced FM service provider, to ensure compliance and agreed SLAs / KPIs are adhered to. Guideline salary is circa £70,000-75,000 and will also include a discretionary annual bonus, as well as healthcare, pension scheme, etc.

Candidates must be fully qualified in an engineering disciple (mechanical or electrical), with at least five years experience within an engineering/technical management role. The employer will consider candidates with experience either in a similar client-side role, as well as those who have worked purely with M&E maintenance organisations. Along with core engineering certificates, additional training such as IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH, current or previous HV / LV AP status, ACOP L8, etc will all be beneficial, as well as any engineering memberships.

Some of the duties involved will include:

• Lead Hard Services Management across site (budgets, schedules, procurement, quality & risk, statutory compliance and governance)

• Develop and implement consistent maintenance management practice. Lead service partners and teams in driving performance and best practice to ensure exceptional service delivery

• Provide technical support for client’s leased space as required

• Accountable for the Engineering Audit program for the building

• Drive and deliver innovative cost reduction or sustainability programs

• Deliver improvement strategies using data driven information from all available technology platforms

• Work with consultancy / energy & sustainability team to identify energy management best practices and innovations

• Accountable for all engineering budget, working with the site facilities managers to forecast

• Lead the engineering function in support of all client accreditations and certifications (e.g. Client ISO50001, ISO550001 certification)

• Communicate regularly with the Client team to build and maintain relationships

• Manage internal and external Service Level Agreements (SLA) and Key Performance Indicators to ensure contractual commitments are met or exceeded

• Promote high level of customer service to ensure and drive best practices

• Ensure business continuity plans are carried out as required to maintain minimum service disruption

• Working in accordance with health and safety measures and promoting best practice amongst colleagues, contractors and vendors

• Conduct risk assessments and follow safety protocols, keeping up to date with latest legislation and trends

This is an exciting opportunity for an engineering/technical manager to join one of the leaders in the commercial real estate management in the UK, working directly for the managing agent. While managing agent experience is preferred, our customer are open to those working on the Facilities Maintenance / Service Provider side interested in a move towards being the client and the added benefits, prestige and job security which come with that.

Outside of strong technical expertise within electrical, mechanical and general HVAC systems, the role will be outward facing in liaising with tenants, regular meetings with stakeholders and service providers. As much as this engineering bias, a client-facing and personable approach is key in fostering relations and day-to-day interactions.

With a number of high-profile properties under management and a growing reputation within the London & UK market, this is a fantastic time to join with career development through training and promotion all on the table.
