Goose + Berry, an award-winning event catering company, is looking for an experienced Finance Officer to join the team at our Maidenhead office. This role focuses on managing the day-to-day bookkeeping and financial administration for a busy and growing business, ensuring accuracy and smooth financial operations.
You'll be responsible for:
* Bookkeeping: Processing supplier and customer invoices, payments, and maintaining accurate financial records
* Payroll Support: Assisting with the preparation and processing of payroll
* Bank Reconciliations: Completing regular and accurate reconciliations
* Financial Reporting: Assisting with monthly accounts and basic performance reports
* VAT & Tax: Supporting the preparation of VAT returns and other statutory submissions
* Supplier & Customer Management: Handling queries and maintaining good working relationships
* Process Improvement: Helping to streamline systems and improve efficiency
We're looking for someone who:
* Is AAT qualified, part-qualified, or has relevant bookkeeping experience
* Has previous experience in an accounts or bookkeeping role
* Is confident working independently and managing core bookkeeping tasks
* Has strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
* Can manage multiple deadlines calmly and effectively
* Is familiar with Xero (or similar accounting software – Xero preferred)
* Maintains a high level of integrity and professionalism
