Job Title : Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Secondment) Please note: Automatic promotion is not guaranteed Dynamic working : 4-5 days per week on-site, due to workload classification The opportunity: An opportunity has arisen to join the Circuit Card Assembly Business Unit in Manufacturing. The role is a secondment into the Manufacturing Engineering team where, working for the Principal Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for your own products: Writing and updating work instructions Interpreting design drawings Creating and updating PBOMs Resolving technical issues Supporting shop floor Defining and purchasing tooling Supporting quality processes Running focused improvement activities to improve time, cost and quality performance Supporting the industrial validation process through the use of FMEA’s, process proving activities etc. Feeding back Design for Manufacture suggestions to the relevant design teams What we’re looking for from you: Formal technical Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3 and Formal further education certificate to HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject OR BEng in relevant Engineering Degree Must demonstrate a proactive approach to problem solving and commitment to work to meet our delivery milestones. Have the ability to interpret Design Drawings with a view to producing Manufacturing Build Instructions. Must be able to work within and contribute to a team environment. Competent using various digital systems, including SAP and MES Must demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement Electronics knowledge would be good but not essential An eagerness to learn the fundamentals of manufacturing system design and execution Our Business: MBDA is a leading defence organisation.
