The Opportunity
Working as part of the Materials Growth team, you will provide a hands-on role in the growth and characterisation of semiconductor materials. This role will offer full training and is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in science and engineering.
Tasks will include operation and maintenance of an epitaxial growth reactor, including loading and unloading, component cleaning, substrate preparation, and assessment of epitaxial layers with semiconductor characterisation tools. The successful applicant will contribute towards process optimisation and improvement activities, should have a keen eye for detail, and be able to apply practical problem-solving skills to help meet production demand.
Responsibilities of a Manufacturing Technician
* Recycling and purification of elements used in the growth process.
* Operation and maintenance of a MOCVD reactor.
* Maintain a safe working environment in labs.
* Ensure process conforms to quality procedures.
Qualifications and Skills Needed
* Comfortable working alone or in a small team, potentially including shift work.
* Good interpersonal skills, a team player.
* Effective communication at all levels.
* Safety conscious, working with hazardous substances.
* Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Genuine interest in Science and Engineering.
* Strong foundation in Maths, Chemistry, and English or similar.
Desirable Qualifications
* Experience working in a laboratory environment.
* Experience with semiconductor process equipment.
* A-Level/HNC/HND in a relevant science field (Chemistry preferred).
