Enfys Ward, YGC has an exciting opportunity to join our Oncology and Haematology ward. We are looking for a Deputy Ward Manager who is highly motivated and enthusiastic to assist in developing the service for the future. This is a demanding role that requires commitment and a positive leadership approach towards change. You will have excellent communication skills and high clinical standards with a passion to make a difference for patients and staff alike. Managing and controlling the activities of the ward in an effective and efficient manner. Main duties of the job The post holder will support the Senior Nurse to lead and manage the provision of care in the ward providing a visible leadership presence. You will be responsible for ensuring that high standards of evidence-based clinical care are achieved and continuously monitored, ensuring a positive learning environment. The successful candidate will have excellent clinical skills in relation to all aspects of care, together with a caring attitude and good interpersonal skills with patients and all members of the multidisciplinary team. The post holder will have opportunities to improve their clinical skills and develop their management and leadership experience. You will be supported by an experience dynamic team and a Practice Development Nurse. All applicants are expected to keep with new initiatives and interventions within nursing care. The Deputy Ward Manager is expected to continue the running of the ward in the absence of the ward manager. Providing support with staff appraisals, sickness and training support. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
