Job Summary
Middleway Surgery in Middleway, St. Blazey, Par, Cornwall is inviting applications for a salaried GP. The role involves 68 sessions per week, with potential for future partnership, in a supportive, forward‑thinking environment close to the coast. Competitive pay is £11.5k–£12k per session depending on experience.
Responsibilities
* Provide highly effective medical care to the entitled population.
* Deliver services in line with the GMS contract and local/national guidance.
* Prescribe generically in accordance with guidance.
* Manage long‑term conditions effectively.
* Process administrative tasks promptly, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated duties.
* Work on rotational telephone triage and duty doctor rosters.
* Maintain accurate clinical records in compliance with policy and guidance.
* Collaborate with the team, sharing equally in practice workload.
* Adhere to best practice through clinical guidelines and audit processes.
* Implement continuous improvement and quality initiatives.
* Accept delegated responsibility for specific QOF areas.
* Participate in practice meetings and contribute effectively.
* Assist with clinical governance, training, clinical audit and appraisal processes.
* Prepare and complete revalidation and self‑learning initiatives.
* Support medical student training across disciplines.
* Assist partners in achieving strategic aims, recommending income‑enhancement and cost‑reduction measures.
* Review and maintain practice protocols and policies.
* Promote collaborative culture and continuous improvement.
Additional tasks may include:
* Participation in practice audits and local service‑delivery initiatives.
* Reviewing significant and near‑miss events using root‑cause analysis.
Person Specification
Essential Experience
* Experience in a primary care setting.
* Ongoing professional development.
* Experience with QOF and clinical audit.
* Minimum two years as a salaried GP.
* Understanding of the GMS contract.
Desirable Experience
* Medicines management.
* ICB initiatives experience.
Essential Qualifications
* Qualified GP.
* Qualified MRCGP.
* Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP.
* Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT).

* Location: Middleway, St. Blazey, Par, Cornwall, PL24 2JL.
* Start Date: Summer 2026 (working days negotiable).
* Pattern: Full‑time / Part‑time.
* Contract: Permanent.
