Plumbing Vocational Tutor Location : 200 Springfield Road, Belfast, BT12 7DB Salary : £29,269 (if different in original, adjust accordingly) Hours : 37 per week Responsible to : Operations Manager Role overview The Plumbing Vocational Tutor will deliver high-quality plumbing training within the Training for Success delivery team at Springvale Learning. The role is to develop the competence of SFLW learners through effective training, assessment and work placements, ensuring compliance with Department for the Economy, ETI and awarding body standards. Main duties Assist with marketing and recruitment of learners to plumbing work-based learning programmes. Participate in student induction, monitoring and review processes. Assess and record learners initial skills, abilities and experience. Achieve and sustain performance levels in line with contract compliance and ETI standards (retention, achievement, progression). Design lesson plans and schemes of work appropriate to plumbing qualifications. Maintain optimum learner numbers in line with programme targets. Prepare an individual training plan for each learner. Liaise with employers to secure appropriate plumbing placements. Ensure placements meet requirements for child protection, insurance, liability, employment law and health and safety. Deliver high-quality practical and technical plumbing sessions. Monitor, review and record learner progress on site and in placement. Monitor plumbing equipment, tools, materials, PPE and other resources issued to learners. Undertake relevant CPD to maintain high standards of provision. Produce internal and external reports as required. Produce an annual ISEF self-evaluation of plumbing delivery in line with ETI requirements. Participate in curriculum standardisation meetings to ensure compliance with awarding body specifications. Liaise with external examiners, moderators and verifiers. Develop relationships with key partners and external organisations. Maintain effective working relationships with all internal departments. Perform other duties as required by management. Person specification essential Qualifications and attainments Maths and English GCSE Grade C or higher (or recognised equivalent). Level 3 (or higher) plumbing qualification in the relevant vocational area. Teaching and Learning qualification with LLUK Standards, or willingness to work towards. Assessor Award, or willingness to work towards. Current UK driving licence (or ability to meet the mobility requirements if unable to hold a licence due to disability). ICT literate. Relevant experience Minimum 3 years relevant plumbing industry experience post-apprenticeship. Ability to engage and motivate learners. Proven track record in meeting targets and quality standards. Special aptitudes Excellent planning and organisational skills. Effective communication with learners and colleagues at all levels and backgrounds. Ability to build positive rapport with learners. Desirable Internal Quality Assurance Award (TAQA). Knowledge and competence in SER/ETI standards and awarding body systems. Use of innovative teaching methods including ICT.
