Overview
We are seeking to appoint a reliable technician to join our vibrant Performing Arts department on a casual basis. As a Music Technician, you will play a pivotal role in providing technical support for our specialist music and drama facilities. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the safety and compliance of our equipment as well as setting up technical resources for our school productions, concerts, recordings, and other performing arts events. This role requires flexibility, as hours will be concentrated around key performance dates in the school calendar and may include occasional evening work.
Key Responsibilities
* Live Event Support: Set up, operate, and dismantle sound systems (PA systems, microphones, monitors etc) for a range of events including school plays, musicals, and concerts.
* Live Event Support: Rig, focus, and operate stage lighting equipment, including generic lanterns, intelligent lighting, and follow spots.
* Live Event Support: Set up and operate audio-visual (AV) equipment, including projectors, screens, and playback systems.
* Live Event Support: Operate sound and/or lighting desks during rehearsals and live performances, responding to cues and the needs of the production.
* Equipment Management & Safety: Manage the audio and/or video recording of student performances, concerts, and coursework submissions.
* Equipment Management & Safety: Conduct routine maintenance and safety inspections of all sound, lighting, and AV equipment.
* Equipment Management & Safety: Maintain an accurate inventory of all technical equipment and manage a booking system for its use.
* Equipment Management & Safety: Ensure the safe and secure storage of all technical assets.
* Equipment Management & Safety: Uphold and promote Health & Safety standards within all performance spaces, particularly concerning electrical safety, working at height, and cable management.
