Highview Power Carrington – LAES Project (FOAK)
50 MW /  MWh Liquid Air Energy Storage Facility | Greater Manchester

The project utilises proprietary LAES technology, converting surplus renewable electricity into stored liquid air, with later pressurisation and reheating to drive turbines for electricity generation.

Role / Scope (Bilfinger UK):

* Principal contractor for Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation (MEI) construction, including structural steelwork
* Working within a large high‑performing, multi‑disciplinary integrated delivery team on a technically challenging FOAK scheme



As a Materials Controller, your activities will include the following, but are not limited to:



* To lead and oversee a team responsible for the management and distribution of materials on and off site
* To liaise with the client team to ensure timely delivery of free issue materials in line with the project schedule
* To provide the primary site / warehouse interface for the site’s materials management
* Responsible for Manifests / Requisitions / Repairs / Rentals / Stockholding
* Responsible for highlighting data base issues to the support team, also purchasing and warehousing
* Promote alignment and adherence of client inventory processes to site personnel
* Ensuring that facilities are in place and used for the storage of any hazardous material and that environmental protection and clean up measures are in place
* Distribution of materials from the warehouse to site in accordance with the construction requirements
* Liaise with the site supervision to ensure correct placement of materials as they are distributed from the project warehouse
* Maintain / update temporary equipment register in accordance with site procedure
* Apply Health, Safety and Environmental Policy and Safety Management Systems to all aspects of the logistics process
* Participate in site/platform Planning meetings to understand materials distribution priorities
* Carry out site inspections to ensure that materials are being utilised at the locations defined by end users and not being degraded by non-

usage/inadequate storage

Skills & Qualifications

* Good interpersonal skills required as part of a large project team
* Suitable IT skills – MS Office
* Self motivated to achieve client deadlines
