Bath College is looking for a passionate Carpentry Trainer to join its Building Services team and help shape the future of construction education. Whether you're already teaching or looking to make the transition into education, this role comes with full teacher training and ongoing support. In this role, you'll deliver both theory and practical sessions across Levels 1-3, supporting full-time learners and apprentices as they develop key trade skills. You'll also play a role in course planning, progress monitoring, and creating an engaging, hands-on learning environment. The college is known for its commitment to learner success, safeguarding, and providing staff with the tools and autonomy they need to succeed. The ideal candidate will have significant industry experience in Carpentry, a relevant vocational qualification, and the desire to inspire and support the next generation. Teaching and assessing experience is welcome - but not essential.
The Role
1. Deliver theory and workshop-based Carpentry lessons up to Level 3
2. Support learners through tutorials, ILPs, and EPA readiness
3. Maintain and prepare workshop spaces, tools, and resources
4. Contribute to curriculum development, progress reviews, and learner success
The Person
5. Industry-qualified in Carpentry (L3 or equivalent)
6. Experience in site-based and/or bench Carpentry
7. Strong communicator, team player, and role model for learners
8. Assessor or teaching qualifications desirable - training provided
9. Based within a commutable distance of Radstock, Somerset
