Fostering Team Manager – Salisbury | Five Rivers (Non-Statutory) Fostering Team Manager (Permanent) – Five Rivers | Non-statutory fostering service (independent provider) Base: Salisbury (SP1) | Covering Hampshire, Wiltshire & Dorset | Hybrid: 2–3 days per week in the Salisbury office Up to £48,905 £5,100 car allowance Five Rivers are recruiting a Fostering Team Manager to join their non-statutory fostering service, supporting foster carers and improving outcomes for children through high-quality supervision, stability planning and strong practice oversight. This is an excellent post for a manager who wants to lead in a setting where the work is relationship-led, practice-focused and centred around supporting carers and ensuring children thrive, rather than carrying statutory local authority caseloads. The role You will lead fostering practice across Hampshire, Wiltshire and Dorset, ensuring consistent standards, robust quality assurance and responsive support to carers and children. Leadership and oversight Lead and develop a team of Supervising Social Workers (and associated staff), setting clear standards and expectations. Provide regular reflective supervision, management oversight and coaching to drive high-quality practice. Manage allocation, capacity and workflow, ensuring carers receive timely, meaningful support. Supporting carers and stability Oversee the quality of supervision and support plans for foster carers, including matching support and placement stability. Provide management oversight on complex scenarios: safeguarding concerns, allegations, placement disruption risk, standards of care. Drive learning and consistency across the patch, ensuring practice is confident and defensible. Quality, compliance and governance Ensure practice aligns with fostering regulatory requirements and Five Rivers policies/procedures. Quality assure assessments, reports and recording; maintain strong audit readiness. Monitor performance and outcomes, implementing improvement plans where required. Multi-agency partnership Build effective relationships with Local Authorities and external partners, ensuring Five Rivers are recognised as a strong, solution-focused provider. Requirements (essential) Proven Team Manager experience within fostering (or closely aligned children’s services leadership with fostering responsibility). Strong grasp of quality assurance, safeguarding and fostering practice expectations. Confident leading teams, managing performance and providing clear practice direction. UK-based experience required. Willingness to travel across the patch and attend the Salisbury office 2–3 days per week.
