We are seeking a passionate and driven Environment Artist
to help elevate the visuals of an exciting unannounced game. Join a studio renowned for the Sniper Elite series and fresh off the success of Atomfall, our biggest game launch to date.
Your role will involve creating visually stunning environments that push aesthetic boundaries and engage players. You will produce high-quality assets aligned with technical constraints and artistic direction, playing a key role within the Environment Art team to ensure the quality of a new project.
This opportunity can be based in Oxford, Warwick, or Runcorn, offering flexibility, collaboration, and the chance to work with a world-class team. We provide a relocation package, including moving assistance, temporary accommodation, and full support for a smooth transition.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist in planning environments considering narrative and visual storytelling, documenting intentions.
2. Create environments collaboratively with Level Design.
3. Develop functional assets respecting technical and artistic constraints.
4. Track and update progress using designated tools.
5. Communicate and collaborate with stakeholders for task direction and consistency.
6. Ensure project quality by working with Technical Artists and Senior Artists, making necessary adjustments.
7. Incorporate feedback from Leads and Producers.
8. Reference game design documents to understand environments, objectives, and style.
Requirements:
1. Proficiency in 3D software such as 3D Studio Max, Maya, or Blender.
2. Experience with 3D sculpting tools like Zbrush or Mudbox.
3. Knowledge of modeling, hi-res sculpting, baking, and material/shader setup in real-time engines.
4. Understanding of PBR materials and Substance pipeline.
5. Ability to produce high-quality, visually compelling environments.
6. Skill in translating concept art into 3D assets.
7. Understanding of composition and visual storytelling.
8. Knowledge of game development processes.
