This Financial Controller job will see you take ownership of end-to-end finance operations, ensuring robust reporting, compliance and controls are in place. You will also play a key role in supporting business performance, delivering commercial insight, and helping drive efficiencies across the UK business.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead day-to-day finance operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, banking and asset management.
* Manage financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
* Prepare and review monthly management accounts, journals, schedules, and reconciliations.
* Oversee payroll and pensions.
* Ensure compliance with HMRC requirements including VAT and Corporation Tax.
* Act as the key contact for auditors and tax advisors.
* Implement and improve financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
* Provide financial insight to support operational and commercial decisions.
* Partner with non-finance colleagues to support business performance.
* Drive process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency.
About You
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
* Strong background in financial management and reporting.
* Proven technical accounting and tax knowledge.
* Advanced Excel skills.
* Commercially minded, with the ability to interpret and explain complex data.
* Analytical, detail-focused, and solutions-driven.
* Strong communicator and natural leader with a collaborative approach.
* Comfortable in a hands-on Financial Controller job covering both operational and strategic responsibilities.
