Tractor Driver / Machinery Operator Location: Hertfordshire Employment: Full-time | Seasonal peak in summer | Accommodation provided Company Overview A long-established, family-run agricultural and land-services business in Hertfordshire is seeking an experienced Tractor Driver / Machinery Operator. The company operates across agriculture, arboriculture and fencing, providing high-quality and reliable services to farms, estates and landowners. Role Summary This role offers varied work across agricultural and land-based operations, with a strong focus on tractor driving and machinery operation, particularly during the summer peak. The successful candidate will operate modern equipment including tractors, mini diggers and chainsaws, and will support wider groundworks, estate maintenance and land-management tasks. Modern on-site accommodation is available. Key Responsibilities Operating tractors for seasonal fieldwork (peak workload in summer) Competent operation of mini diggers for groundwork tasks Safe use of chainsaws (where qualified) Supporting agricultural, arboricultural, fencing and general land-services operations Completing routine machinery checks and basic maintenance (greasing, cleaning, fluid checks) Working safely and efficiently as part of a small team Assisting with site preparation, groundworks and landscape/estate tasks Required Qualifications & Experience Proven experience as a tractor driver Competent mini digger operator NPTC/Lantra Chainsaw Qualification (CS30/31 or equivalent) - preferred Practical knowledge of machinery maintenance and safe operation Ability to work outdoors in all weathers Strong work ethic, reliability and positive attitude Full UK driving licence - desirable Desirable Additional Qualifications Telehandler certificate (e.g., Lantra or NPORS) Experience in fencing, groundworks, landscaping or arboriculture Additional machinery tickets such as: Excavator Dumper Wood chipper Brush cutter/strimmer ATV/UTV certification What's Offered Competitive pay, depending on experience and qualifications Modern on-site accommodation included Varied work across multiple land-based and rural sectors Long-term opportunities for the right candidate Supportive, family-run working environment
