Overview

Senior Human Resources Business Partner - corporate functions

Location: South Midlands (Hybrid 2-3 days a week in the office)

Salary: £50-70,000 + car allowance + benefits

You will be responsible for delivering a best-practice HR programme across multiple functional areas. Through strong stakeholder engagement, you will partner with functional leadership, driving business performance by coaching and developing managers, and ensuring alignment with the wider HR strategy and company goals. You will be responsible for department restructures and organisational development (OD) work attached to this.

The role fosters collaboration with broader HR teams to deliver a unified approach to HR services. You will own the employee lifecycle, talent management, and local HR initiatives, leveraging Centres of Excellence (CoE) for recruitment, talent development, and learning & development (L&D).


Responsibilities

* Deliver a high-quality HR service across Head Office, ensuring alignment with the overall HR strategy and business needs.
* Act as a trusted advisor to regional leadership, providing HR expertise and coaching to improve leadership capabilities and team performance.
* Own the full employee lifecycle within the region, ensuring seamless implementation of HR processes from recruitment to offboarding.
* Build strong, collaborative relationships with CoE teams, ensuring a collaborative approach to HR service delivery.
* Partner with Talent Acquisition, maintaining accountability for recruitment outcomes while leveraging CoE support for sourcing and selection strategies.
* Collaborate with Talent Management and L&D teams to design and deliver regional talent initiatives that align with the wider HR strategy and address local needs.
* Take ownership of the regional talent management strategy, driving engagement, succession planning, and career development.
* Identify and nurture high-potential employees to contribute to the talent pipeline.
* Support managers in developing robust development plans aligned with business priorities.
* Collaborate with L&D to assess training needs and deliver tailored development programs; ensure effective execution of training initiatives and a culture of continuous learning.
* Act as a compliance champion, ensuring adherence to internal policies, procedures, and external regulations, including EDI standards.
* Coach and influence stakeholders to maintain accountability for people management practices in line with company values and the code of conduct.
* Analyse HR metrics and business trends to identify opportunities for improvement and inform strategic decision-making.
* Tailor HR interventions to regional challenges while aligning with the broader HR strategy.
* Drive the implementation of HR deliverables, including EDI, talent development, and compliance, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regional needs.
* Provide expert guidance on complex employee relations (ER) issues and cases; support managers and HR Advisors in handling ER cases with professionalism and legal compliance.
* Strengthen functional capability by addressing potential ER situations proactively; manage risk and escalation appropriately.


Qualifications (The people)

* Degree educated or equivalent.
* Professional accreditation (qualified to level 7 or working towards) with operational experience across the full employee lifecycle: ER, Recruitment and development, Engagement.
* Progressive HR experience within head office functions; extensive experience in complex HR roles.
* Proven track record in talent management, employee engagement, and delivery of HR strategies.
* Experience communicating effectively at all levels, including senior management.
* Strong influencing and decision-making skills; ability to manage performance and support decision-making.
* Strong focus on compliance, governance, and knowledge of HR best practice and employment law.
* Experience in managing and delivering HR change programmes.
* Credible HR professional with leadership behaviours that develop respect and trust in decision making.
* Strategic thinker with the ability to consider wider implications of decisions.
* Experience providing HR analysis and support to business stakeholders to optimise performance and decision making.
* Strong aptitude for interpreting HR data to inform analysis, options, and decisions.
* Experience in mentoring and coaching; ability to influence and challenge stakeholders to ensure compliance and consistency.
* Strong project management skills; deadline-focused; change management with risk assessment.
* Working at pace with high attention to detail and accuracy.
