Robolab Technican
Purpose of the Role
The Robolab Technician is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Robolab and associated infrastructure in accordance with organisational, environmental, and safety procedures. The role supports cement production and quality objectives by ensuring accurate analysis, calibration, and compliance with internal and external standards. A key element of the role is interpreting analytical results and implementing improvements to maintain quality and efficiency.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
1. Ensure smooth operation of the Robolab and associated instrumentation to achieve production quality objectives.
2. Perform routine preventative maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
3. Create and follow maintenance schedules using supplier literature; manage spare parts requirements.
4. Document all results accurately and in line with company systems and procedures.
5. Monitor and interpret analytical results, highlighting potential issues to relevant departments.
6. Apply problem-solving techniques to diagnose and rectify faults using technical knowledge and supplier documentation.
7. Coordinate with other departments to address and resolve potential issues proactively.
8. Maintain Robolab quality and operational records to meet group quality objectives.
9. Manage and control spare parts and consumables for the laboratory.
10. Adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies at all times.
11. Maintain a clean and tidy laboratory environment and follow good housekeeping practices.
12. Ensure compliance with statutory legislation and company standards for Quality, Safety, Health, and Environment.
13. Promote safety awareness and lead by example, adhering to the 16 Life Saving Rules.
14. Report and investigate SHE incidents and near misses.
15. Follow standard operating procedures and assist in reviewing risk assessments.
Knowledge & Skills:
16. Comprehensive understanding of safety procedures and commitment to improving H&S standards.
17. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
18. Good analytical and decision-making abilities.
19. Ability to organise and prioritise workload effectively.
20. Capable of working independently and collaboratively.
21. PC literate with proficiency in Microsoft tools and supplier software.
Qualifications & Experience:
22. Minimum qualification in a light-based mechanical trade (e.g., auto mechanic) or higher.
23. Experience working on small mechanical devices such as actuators, stepper drives, and pneumatic cylinders.
24. Ability to read and understand pneumatic/control drawings and circuits.
Desirable:
25. Experience with automated robotic systems.
26. Experience with pneumatic solenoid-operated machinery.
