**24-month Fixed Term contract **

Barts Health NHS Trust is a world-class centre for cardiology medicine, inherited cardiac disease and other specialties where cutting edge medicinal device, pioneering therapies and interventional clinical trials have always been valued and supported, bringing us to the frontline of cardiology disease management. We currently have a vacancy for a dynamic, motivated nurse to work in the busy Cardiology Research Department within Barts Heart Centre, the biggest cardiovascular centre in Europe. It will be a fixed term post for 12 months with a potential to extend for another 12 months

Main duties of the job

We are seeking an experienced EP Research Nurse with an Arrhythmia Nurse Specialist background to lead the setup, delivery, and management of the Atrial Fibrillation Secondary Prevention Clinic, alongside the delivery of clinical trials in cardiac electrophysiology (EP) and device therapy. The successful candidate will also provide clinical and research expertise to the multi-professional team and take responsibility for managing several cardiac EP studies. Based within the Cardiology Research Department at Barts Heart Centre, you will work primarily with Dr. Shohreh Honarbakhsh. To be considered, you should have at least 1-3 years of experience in cardiac research, specifically in arrhythmias and ablation therapies, as well as 2-3 years of experience as an Arrhythmia Nurse Specialist. Strong organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in computer systems, the ability to manage your own time effectively, and a flexible approach to work.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

1. Degree level qualification
2. NMC registration
3. Evidence of continuous personal and professional development
4. GCP quallification
5. Intravenous/Phlebotomy accreditation
6. Mentoring/Teaching qualification or equivalent experience
7. ILS certification
8. Evidence of continued professional developmen
9. Relevant cardiac courses
10. Leadership course or program

Experience

Essential criteria

11. A minimum of 1-3 years of experience as an Arrhythmia Nurse Specialist.
12. A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in cardiac research, specifically in arrhythmias and ablation therapies.
13. Experience of working as part of multidisciplinary team including non-NHS organisation
14. Experience of teaching
15. Familiarity with establishing research pathways and detailed knowledge of establishing study feasibility

Knowledge

Essential criteria

16. Knowledge of the diagnosis and management of cardiac patients
17. Knowledgeable in research theory and practice and competent in data
18. Knowledge of current professional Issues.
19. Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice
20. Knowledge of research methodologies
21. Familiar with Human Tissue Authority regulations and relate to practice
