We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our Finance team, providing accounting support across LKQ UK legal entities and standalone reporting divisions. Key Responsibilities
* Support month-end close activities, including postings, variance analysis, and preparation of management account packs
* Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
* Prepare monthly accounts for small subsidiary entities and standalone divisions, including intercompany reconciliation and elimination submissions to support group consolidation
* Reconcile intercompany accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner
* Prepare statutory financial statements under FRS 102 and support external audit requests to tight deadlines
* Contribute to group disclosure packs and financial reporting requirements
* Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and relevant laws, supporting a robust internal control environment
* Support the tax team with transfer pricing arrangements and intercompany loan agreements
* Actively identify and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within intercompany and financial reporting processes
* Provide day-to-day support to the Financial Reporting Manager
* Deliver ad hoc financial support as required by the business
Skills and Experience
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
* Proven experience preparing a full set of management accounts for a legal entity under FRS 102
* Strong experience supporting external audits and responding to audit queries within tight timelines
* Able to manage end-to-end intercompany accounting transactions
* Strong analytical skills with a solution-focused mindset
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and meeting multiple deadlines
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with non-finance stakeholders
* Able to work independently, use initiative, and manage competing priorities
* Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach
