The Role The role holder is part of the FM team responsible for the operation of FM services on sites and in buildings managed by Facilities Management, supporting the work of the University. This role will be part of the Sidgwick and West Cambridge team and supporting University Departments and FM Services across the Estate. The role holder will assist with the smooth operations of FM services across the Estate between various buildings and departments ensuring buildings are fit for purpose and safely operated. As part of the team, you will also carry out property checks on University properties ensuring safety of these buildings are maintained, as well as working alongside contractors and providing access to buildings for reactive and PPM maintenance. The role holder, alongside existing colleagues, will provide facilities services to buildings and tenants as part of the Facilities Management team. The work supports the academic community and contribute to the smooth running of the buildings and sites. The role holder frequently works non-standard hours; sometimes working without direct supervision across multiple buildings and sites. About You In order to succeed in this role, you will join us with: Experience in Facilities or custodial roles or a related field. Collaborative working approach and a positive mind set. Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with staff and visitors at all levels. Ability and physical fitness to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks daily. Good time management, organisational and co-ordination skills.
