Procurement Specialist

As a Procurement Specialist, you will be accountable for acquiring the goods and services necessary for the organisation’s operational needs, with a specific focus on indirect operations such as office supplies, computers, travel, maintenance, machine parts, and more. The role involves managing a full spectrum of procurement processes, including product/service sourcing, supplier selection, negotiation of pricing and terms, order processing, contract administration, and supplier performance management. This role requires a results-driven individual with strong commercial awareness and proven negotiation skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Product/Service Sourcing: Identify and source goods/services required by the organisation.
* Supplier Selection: Evaluate and select suppliers based on organisational needs and criteria.
* Pricing/Terms Negotiation: Lead negotiation efforts to ensure favourable pricing and contractual terms.
* Order Processing: Oversee the procurement process, ensuring orders are processed efficiently.
* Contract Administration: Manage procurement contracts, ensuring compliance and adherence to agreed terms.
* Supplier Performance Management: Track and evaluate supplier performance, managing relationships and resolving issues.
* Strategic Sourcing: Contribute to strategic sourcing activities as part of continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities of the Procurement Specialist:
* Large Project Management: Manage complex procurement projects or processes with minimal oversight.
* Coaching and Leadership: Mentor and delegate tasks to lower-level professionals.
* Problem Solving: Address and resolve complex procurement challenges with innovative solutions.

* Ability to demonstrate flexibility and agility in adapting to changing business needs.
* Strong contract management experience, with a focus on operational and compliance aspects.

Education & Experience of the Procurement Specialist:
* Degree-qualified or equivalent experience preferred.
* Extensive work experience within procurement or a related field, ideally in a global or complex operational environment.
