Science Technician - Independent School (Tunbridge Wells Area) Part-Time - 21 Hours per Week Start Date: January 2026A well-regarded independent school in the Tunbridge Wells area is seeking a skilled and organised Science Technician to join their Science Department on a part-time basis from January. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive individual to support high-quality teaching and learning across Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Key Responsibilities: Prepare, set up and clear away equipment, materials and chemicals for practical science lessons. Ensure laboratories and prep rooms are maintained to a high standard of safety, cleanliness and organisation. Support teachers with demonstrations and experiments, including the safe handling and storage of equipment. Maintain accurate stock levels of materials and order replacements when required. Assist with the implementation and monitoring of all relevant health and safety procedures, including risk assessments. Provide general technical support to teaching staff across the Science Department.The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Previous experience as a Science Technician or a strong scientific background (school, laboratory, or industry). Good understanding of laboratory health and safety practices (CLEAPSS knowledge beneficial). Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. A proactive, flexible and supportive approach to working within a team.
