Job Summary
This post is to fill a 12‑month gap in the rota. Specific job plans and speciality cannot be guaranteed, but are likely to include 6 months of major trauma and 6 months in an elective speciality – with some flexibility. There is an on‑call component on a 1:14 rota for nights and weekends which varies between the trauma and elective roles.

About the Department
The Trauma and Orthopaedic Department at the James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough and Friarage Hospital Northallerton provides both planned elective and unplanned trauma and reconstruction surgery for a large mixed rural and industrial catchment in the North of England. The two hospital sites enable a breadth of practice, allowing for a concurrent focus on elective and emergency care, creating a vibrant and flexible department.
