We are seeking a Kitchen Assistant who values kindness and delivers care through good meals in our Dementia, Nursing, Residential, and Specialist care homes. You will help provide nutritious, well-balanced meals while ensuring Residents are treated with dignity and respect.
Responsibilities
* Assist with meal preparation under the direction of the Chef or Cook
* Serve meals with warmth and respect in a timely and friendly manner
* Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene of equipment and surfaces
* Monitor and record food storage temperatures (fridges, freezers, etc.)
* Support stock rotation and proper storage of ingredients
* Show new team members how to safely use kitchen equipment
* Wash up and keep the kitchen spotless, including after busy lunch periods
All duties are performed with the Residents' comfort and dignity in mind.
Qualifications and Requirements
* We’re looking for someone with some kitchen experience and a real passion for helping others
* NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation, or willingness to work towards it
* Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow recipes and record information accurately
* Patience, respect, and genuine kindness in every interaction
* Safeguarding: ability to recognise signs of abuse, harm or neglect and know how to respond; safeguarding training appropriate to the role and to undertake additional training as required
* Right to work in the UK on a full or unrestricted basis; sponsorship not available
