Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Support Autistic Children and Make a Difference
Location: Watford, Hertfordshire
Hours: Full-time, temp to perm
Start Date: October 2025
Salary: From £90 per day

We are working with a highly rated school in Watford that prides itself on creating a caring and supportive environment. The school is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support autistic children and help them succeed both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborating with teachers to create and deliver engaging learning activities
* Supporting students through personalised action plans and strategies to aid progress
* Assisting with Individual Education Plans (IEPs), Risk Assessments, Personal Care, and Therapy programmes
* Working closely with teachers, support staff, families, and external agencies to provide tailored support
* Building positive, therapeutic relationships with students and responding to their individual needs
We’d love to hear from you if you:
* Have experience working with autistic children, or a strong desire to develop in this area
* Understand SEN and are committed to learning and professional growth
* Can commit to full-time, fixed days
* Hold a relevant qualification such as NVQ in Childcare and Education, or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
* May have experience in residential care, school support roles, or personal experience with ASC
* Are willing to complete training such as Team Teach, TEACCH, or positive handling
* Have experience supporting independence and social-emotional development in young people
* Hold a clear and valid DBS, or are willing to obtain one
* Driving license preferred
