This new Division, Bellway Home Space, shall become operational later this year and there is an exciting opportunity to join the initial team at our new state of the art facility. We are currently looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer to join the Division’s Maintenance team. The Role The Maintenance Engineer will ensure full maintenance cover over all shifts and that breakdowns and planned maintenance are dealt with in a prompt manner to increase OEE. The processing environment will be through a planned preventive maintenance system. The hours will be a rotating 3-shift pattern, 5 days a week, however, there may be a need to perform weekend overtime to conduct shut down maintenance/repair tasks. Principal accountabilities of the Maintenance Engineer role include: Plant Efficiency Coordination of engineering actions arising from the maintenance planned activities Maintaining and improving current OEE levels by carrying out the maintenance plan and recording all findings within a Computerised Maintenance Management System Completion of Project Improvement Actions to continuously improve the plants' uptime Responding effectively to plant breakdowns Being part of a multi-skilled team that can cover any type of work, whether electrical/mechanical Support training for machine operatives Environmental, Health and Safety Ensuring to follow agreed safe systems of work and monitor operators' work in a Health and Safety Compliant manner Establishing environmental compliance and awareness throughout the team Checking all external contractors work and obtain RAMS in line with agreed EHS Procedures Carrying out work safely and in the interests of all employees in accordance with the EHS procedures and summarised in the EHS responsibilities matrix Work by external bodies Dealing with contractors when necessary and completing contractor inductions Raising requisitions for supplies within agreed budgets and control systems Measurables Increase O.E.E Improvement action completion to deadlines. Planned maintenance records maintained within the CMMS The above list of accountabilities are not exclusive or exhaustive. The post holder will be required to undertake any such duties as may be reasonably expected. Experience, Qualifications and Skills Experience * Extensive experience in a manufacturing/production maintenance environment * Preferably have experience of working in a fast moving environment * Be multi-skilled with either * Electrical bias with mechanical skills and knowledge including: * Working knowledge of PLC controls and instrumentation, and the ability to fault find within a control panel environment * Have the ability to use electrical and electronic test instrumentation for checking circuits, mainly focused on analogue circuits * Must be capable of using variable power supplies to check instrumentation * Possess general industrial electrical experience to include installation techniques * 16th Edition Qualification Or * Mechanical bias with electrical skills and knowledge, including: * Automation/controls environment oriented towards appreciation and understanding of pneumatic controls and hydraulics * Appreciation of electrical aspects which interface with pneumatic control systems; i.e. pressure sensing devices and proportional air control systems * Possess hands-on skills to include welding and fabrication skills, to be capable of undertaking major mechanical repairs or process improvement.
