Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Scheduling Department at The Royal London Hospital. We are recruiting an enthusiastic, dynamic and motivated Scheduler. You will be joining a fun and friendly department with a strong focus on improvement.

Main duties of the job

The Band 4 Elective Scheduler plays a vital role in delivering a high‑quality, patient‑centred service within The Royal London Hospital. This role supports the smooth and timely coordination of elective care by organising appointments, admissions, and pre‑operative requirements in line with RTT standards and Trust access policies. Acting as a key liaison between patients, clinical teams, and administrative services, the scheduler ensures clear communication and efficient workflow throughout the elective pathway. With responsibility for accurate data entry and maintaining up‑to‑date waiting list information on systems such as Cerner Millennium, the post‑holder helps safeguard performance, safety, and utilisation of clinical capacity. By proactively addressing scheduling challenges and providing compassionate support to patients, the Band 4 Scheduler contributes meaningfully to an organised, responsive, and patient‑focused elective service.
