Based in Leyland, just off the M6 junction, this family-owned retail business operates a multi-site operation with interests mainly within the construction sector. During this period of growth, they are seeking a hands-on Finance Manager to manage the day-to-day finances and monthly management accounts for the small group of companies.
Your new role as Finance Manager:
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the preparation of month-end management accounts, financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
2. Manage accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections.
3. Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
4. Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends and variances.
5. Collaborate with senior management to develop long-term financial strategies.
6. Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.
7. Supervise the finance team, providing training and support as needed.
8. Prepare reports for stakeholders that clearly communicate financial performance.
Experience & Qualifications Required:
The ideal candidate will have expertise in managing the day-to-day finances of a family-run business. Operating on Sage, you will have proven experience as a Finance Manager in a similar standalone role. You should possess strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, with excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. The role requires the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, managing ledgers and producing month-end management accounts.
Formal qualifications such as CIMA, ACA, or ACCA are preferred, but QBE (Qualified By Experience) candidates will also be considered. Experience working within a small group of companies in a family-run environment is essential.
