Are you a Low Voltage Electrical Design Engineer with UK rail experience who can produce designs in MicroStation and contribute immediately?
Do you enjoy solving practical engineering problems and working hands-on across LV station systems, signalling power and E&P works?
Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 DOE
Location: Derby, in office 3 days per week.
A well-established SME railway electrical services provider is looking to appoint a permanent Electrical Design Engineer to join its busy in-house design team based in Derby.
Due to key project demands, this business is seeking an experienced and capable Electrical Design Engineer who can hit the ground running and make an immediate impact. You will play a key role in producing high-quality low voltage electrical designs across a range of rail infrastructure projects, including station schemes, signalling power and E&P works.
Essential skills & experience
Proven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer within the UK rail sector
Strong background in low voltage electrical design (e.g. station systems, points heating, signalling power)
Experience doing cable sizing calculations
Essential proficiency in MicroStation – ability to produce designs from day one
Experience working to Network Rail standards, processes and procedures
Ability to work independently and manage your own design workload
Desirable skills
Experience using ETAP/Trimble
Familiarity with BIM processes and 3D modelling
Previous experience as a CRE
SISS comms design experience
