Reception Teacher – ECTs Welcome

Location: L31 Area, Sefton
Start Date: June
Hours: Full Time

Role Overview

Milk Education is delighted to be working with a warm, welcoming, and inclusive primary school in the L31 area of Liverpool, who are seeking a Reception Teacher to join their Early Years team.

This role is ECT‑friendly and ideal for teachers at the start of their career or those looking to build confidence within a nurturing and well‑structured EYFS environment. You will be supported by an experienced Early Years team, strong leadership, and clear routines that allow you to focus on high‑quality teaching and learning.

You will play a key role in supporting pupils at the very beginning of their educational journey, helping to create a safe, engaging, and stimulating classroom where children can thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.

Classroom & School Support

1. Friendly, community‑focused primary school
2. Experienced EYFS Teaching Assistant working closely alongside you
3. Additional SEN support available where required
4. Supportive senior leadership team with an open‑door policy
5. Collaborative Early Years team with shared planning and guidance
6. Positive and encouraging environment for ECT development

Key Responsibilities

7. Plan and deliver engaging learning experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework
8. Create a safe, stimulating, and nurturing Reception classroom environment
9. Support children’s development across communication and language, literacy, numeracy, and personal, social, and emotional development
10. Observe, assess, and record pupil progress using EYFS assessment methods
11. Differentiate provision to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEN
12. Promote positive behaviour, independence, and emotional wellbeing
13. Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues
14. Work collaboratively with EYFS colleagues, the SENCO, and senior leadership

15. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – ECTs are very welcome to apply
16. A developing or secure understanding of EYFS and Reception provision
17. A nurturing, patient, and child‑centred approach to teaching
18. A reflective practitioner open to guidance and professional development
19. Confidence to work as part of a team and ask for support when needed
20. A strong commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice
