Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, enthusiastic nurse with ophthalmic experience to join the Ward 55 team at the Oxford Road campus as a Band 6 sister/charge nurse on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, problem solve and work closely with all members of the multidisciplinary team. The role requires a passion for leading a team, clear leadership skills, and the ability to deputise for the department manager.
Responsibilities
* Lead the Ward 55 nursing team and deputise for the department manager.
* Manage staff, off‑duty rostering while maintaining clinical skills.
* Implement and develop the IQP process, contributing to service improvement.
* Facilitate multidisciplinary collaboration and negotiate effectively at all levels.
* Support induction, regular one‑to‑one meetings, appraisal and professional development plan.
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse with ophthalmic nursing experience.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence, negotiate and organize.
* Strong leadership skills, initiative and a commitment to high quality, patient‑focused care.
* Ability to manage staff, rostering duties while maintaining clinical competencies.
