About Us Grwp Llandrillo Menai was established in 2012 as a result of mergers between Coleg Llandrillo, Coleg Menai and Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor. We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Workshop Technician, Building Services to join our dynamic Construction team on the Rhyl Campus. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with previous experience in a technician role, or for a skilled labourer/tradesperson looking to apply their industry knowledge in an educational setting. The Role This is a practical, varied role where you will work closely with teaching staff and learners to ensure a safe, effective, and organised workshop environment. You will play a vital part in supporting the next generation of tradespeople through demonstrations, instruction, and supervision. Key Responsibilities: Implement Health and Safety measures within the workshop, ensuring full compliance. Prepare and maintain equipment, tools, and materials for lessons and demonstrations. Set up rigs and training areas under the guidance of lecturers. Assist with practical assessments, student observations, and technical demonstrations. Manage stock levels, place orders, and maintain accurate inventories. Collaborate with other Technicians to ensure all facilities remain in excellent condition. Weekly hours - 37 hours per week, 38 weeks per year (during the college term) Pension Provider - Local Government Pension Scheme A nnual Leave - 28 days leave per annum, rising to 32 days after 5 full holiday years continuous service (01 September to 31 August). All normally observed public holidays, determined annually. Up to 5 days efficiency closure days per annum, determined annually. Part Time contracts will receive a pro rata entitlement to the above. Term Time contracts will receive a pro rata entitlement to the above paid as part of annual salary.
