Job Overview
You are the first person our patients speak to when they call 999 in an emergency.
Key Responsibilities
* Answer emergency calls and provide initial medical assessment.
* Work a varied shift pattern including early, late, night and weekend shifts on a rota.
Training Programme
* 9 weeks full‑time training: 3 weeks of classroom training followed by 6 weeks of observation and mentoring.
* Training is mandatory even for part‑time applicants and requires a Pathways licence.
* Training is provided in our Emergency Call Centres in Medway, Kent or Crawley, West Sussex.
Working Hours
As a 24/7 service, the role involves a shift pattern that includes nights and weekends. A fixed rota ensures safe provision of services. Applicants who require to work nights only can request this.
Salary and Benefits
* Competitive salary of £25,760 – £27,476 (approx. £13.17 per hour) with unsocial hours allowance.
* Shift bonuses: between £8 pm and 6 am Monday‑Friday and all‑day Saturday (approx. £17.78 per hour); Sundays and public holidays (approx. £22.26 per hour).

Additional Requirements
* Must live within approximately 45–60 minutes commuting distance of the assigned site.
