Offer description

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated, and compassionate Community Nurse Practitioner to play a core part in delivering skills underpinned by brief psychological interventions within the new A-EDIT service.

The Adult Eating Disorders Intensive Treatment service (A-EDIT) is a regionwide service offering treatment as an alternative to Specialist Eating Disorder (SEDU) inpatient admission to adults receiving treatment from an east of England Community Eating Disorders service (CEDS) who have a severe eating disorder which makes them eligible for SEDU admission.

The post holder will act as a clinical expert in their service area. This means keeping clinically up to date, being able to assess service users thoroughly, plan care rigorously, and audit and evaluate nursing and NICE recommended therapeutic interventions based on evidence and locally agreed protocols and policies.

The post holder will be liaising/working alongside the wider CEDS including the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT), ward staff, other health and social care providers across the East of England region.

If you are looking for a new challenge, are passionate about or have an interest in the field of eating disorders and enjoy variety in your work and wish to be part of a team striving to make a difference for our community, then we want to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work in close collaboration with the Adult Eating Disorders Intensive Treatment professionals to deliver effective, individualised, evidence-based care to support those experiencing an exacerbation in their eating disorders from requiring hospital admission and to facilitate early discharge from hospital. This will involve assessment of service users’ needs, contributing to care planning, liaising/supporting carers, delivering interventions alongside colleagues, reviewing interventions, and supporting discharge meetings.

The post holder will provide guidance and support to the team’s senior support workers in absence of the service Leads as well as act as a point of contact for the AEDIT MDT.
