Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Care
Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 per annum (depending on experience) plus bonuses
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Reporting To: Regional Manager / Director of Care
Are you an experienced Registered Manager with a passion for delivering exceptional care in a children’s residential setting? We are looking for a committed and knowledgeable Registered Manager to lead our Ofsted-registered children’s home in Stoke-on-Trent. As a Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the overall performance of the service, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards while fostering a safe, nurturing, and child-centred environment. You’ll play a key role in the development of your team and the delivery of high-quality residential care.
Key Responsibilities of the Registered Manager:

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the children’s home to ensure high standards of care.

Lead and support a team of residential care staff, ensuring training, supervision, and professional development is delivered consistently.

Ensure full compliance with Ofsted regulations, health and safety legislation, and internal care policies.

Develop and monitor individualised care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies.
*
Build strong, positive relationships with children, families, local authorities, and external professionals.
*
Manage recruitment, retention, and safer staffing practices within the home.
*
Prepare the home for Ofsted inspections and drive continuous improvement across the service.

Manage budgets, rotas, and resources efficiently while ensuring service sustainability.

Promote a safeguarding-first culture, addressing all concerns and incidents promptly and effectively.
Requirements for the Registered Manager Role:

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).
*
A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager within residential care, ideally children’s services.
*
In-depth knowledge of Ofsted standards and relevant care regulations.
*
Proven leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.
*
Ability to work flexibly and respond to the demands of a dynamic care environment.

UK driving licence (desirable, depending on service location).
