As we expand our operational teams, we are now recruiting an HGV CityFlex Team Leader to support and guide Operatives in delivering exceptional customer service, first‑class safety standards, and innovative operational solutions across North and Central Wales.
As an experienced Team Leader, you will play a pivotal role in leading an operative to deliver high‑quality, safe, and efficient wastewater network services across the region. You will be responsible for overseeing day‑to‑day site operations, ensuring compliance, driving exceptional performance, and acting as the senior point of contact on site.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Supervision
* Lead, coordinate, and mentor an Operative during all planned and reactive works
* Ensure the team delivers excellent customer service and maintains clear communication with clients and colleagues
* Take ownership of site productivity, task allocation, and adherence to work schedules
* Provide on‑the‑job coaching, supporting Operatives to enhance their skills and technical capability
* Uphold high operational standards and lead by example in safety, professionalism, and conduct
Operational Excellence
* Operate the HGV CityFlex unit, including high‑pressure jetting and CCTV inspection equipment, with advanced competency
* Guide your Operative on safe, effective use of equipment and correct working techniques
* Oversee the completion of drainage surveys, inspections, and technical assessments
* Interpret survey data and provide informed decisions to ensure works meet specification, design plans, and client expectations
* Apply in‑depth knowledge of drainage systems to diagnose issues and direct operational solutions
Health & Safety & Compliance
* Ensure all works are carried out in strict accordance with method statements and safe systems of work
* Maintain a strong safety culture on site, proactively identifying hazards and enforcing safe behaviours
* Conduct daily vehicle checks to guarantee roadworthiness and report faults promptly
* Maintain high standards of equipment care, ensuring all tools, machinery, and PPE are safe and fit for purpose
* Complete all electronic site documentation accurately and verify entries made by your Operative
* Ensure full compliance with company procedures, client standards, and regulatory requirements
Experience & Qualifications
Desirable unless stated as required
* HGV Class 2 licence – Required
* Full UK Driving Licence – Required
* Experience leading small teams or mentoring operatives (preferred)
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Confident working with technology and electronic reporting tools

* Banksman
* Manual Handling
* Emergency First Aid
* NRSWA
* EUSR National Water Hygiene
* Asbestos Awareness
* CPC Driver Training (HGV only)
