An opportunity has arisen within Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust for a Physiotherapist to join the band 5 cross-site rotation scheme. Potential for substantive and fixed term contract opportunities available.

Our band 5 rotation scheme includes rotations at the three main hospital sites, St Mary's Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital and Hammersmith Hospital across a wide variety of areas, including Stroke, Respiratory, Community, Medicine, Neurosurgery, Musculoskeletal, Paediatrics, Neuro Rehabilitation & Orthopaedics. Band 5's will be expected to complete rotations in the core areas of Physiotherapy; Medicine and Respiratory.

You would be joining a supportive, well established team committed to providing a high standard of clinical care and modernising services to meet the needs of patients, referrers and commissioners. The department actively supports Continuing Professional Development and runs an established appraisal system.

The successful applicants must have their degree qualification and should be HCPC registered or have submitted their registration forms already.The physiotherapy department operates as a 7 day service and therefore this post will require working at weekends as part of contracted hours of work. This post will also support the current overnight on-call service (subject to competencies).

Main duties of the job

* To manage own caseload of patients as an autonomous practitioner with appropriate clinical supervision.
* To consolidate and develop clinical and non-clinical expertise.
* To be responsible for own CPD and own Professional and Personal Development.
* To work effectively within the team, department and organisation
* To contribute to service education, audit and research programmes.
* To participate in adult respiratory, orthopaedic and paediatric weekend working and on-call.

* To be professionally and legally accountable and responsible for all aspects of your own work, including the management of patients in your care.
* To use professional knowledge in order to undertake comprehensive assessment, re-assessment and discharge planning.

Person Specification


Education/ Qualifications

* Professional degree qualification in relevant profession Physiotherapy
* HCPC registration
* Membership of Professional Body
* Membership of a specialist section.
* Degree classification upper second class honours or above (or equivalent)


Experience

* Experience in managing physical disability
* Wide range of experience in training /clinical placements
* Assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of therapy intervention
* Liaison with professional colleagues, carers and relatives in the hospital and community.
* Experience in a clinical setting of application of professional standards and codes of conduct.
* Experience of using evidence based practice.
* Recent junior experience in a structured rotational scheme.
* Knowledge of clinical governance issues in relation to patient care
* Group teaching skills
