Applicants must have full GMC Registration, a license to practise and eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview. Portfolio Pathway (formerly known as CESR - Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration) route doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive consultant post once it has been awarded. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
Applications are welcome for the above Permanent, full time (40 hours per week) post based in Western General Hospital.
This post is a substantive consultant with emphasis on General and Diagnostic urology including diagnostics and therapeutic flexible cystoscopies, and developing delivery of day case urology at SJH and/or ELCH.
Depending on candidate interest developing NMIBC pathway and new treatments and/or endourology will be encouraged.
Urology services are provided by the Lothian and Borders network which provides general and specialist urological services for a population of 850,000 across several sites centred on the unit at the Western General Hospital. In addition to St John’s Hospital (SJH), Livingston the network includes the Borders General Hospital, Melrose and East Lothian Community Hospital, Haddington.
It is anticipated that the successful applicant will work across two sites.
