We are looking for a technically minded and analytically driven Network Analyst to join our Investment Programme team. As a Network Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of gas transportation by ensuring our infrastructure meets demand safely, reliably, and efficiently; not just for today’s energy demands, but for the hydrogen-powered future.
You will work on a variety of projects, from modelling new connections to analysing how renewable gas and hydrogen will fit into the system. The work is diverse, one day you could be investigating pressure issues on the network, on the next, running models to test the impact of connecting new green energy sources. You will also play a key part in supporting our ambitious East Coast Hydrogen (ECH) project, which is set to transform the way energy is delivered across the region.
We are looking for someone has strong mathematical and problem-solving skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to translate technical analysis into actionable outcomes. This role offers a unique blend of strategic thinking, hands-on modelling, and cross-functional collaboration.
A full UK driving licence is a requirement for this role
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Model complex gas networks?using advanced tools like Falcon, Synergi, and PRISM to simulate planned and unplanned scenarios and inform strategic decisions
Assess the impact of exit and entry connections including hydrogen and biomethane, helping to integrate sustainable technologies into the network, and contribute to the development and delivery of future energy initiatives
Solve real-time operational challenges supporting emergency responses and pressure investigations and respond to technical queries
Ensure alignment with internal policies and external regulations, reviewing and updating Network Planning Procedures and contributing to the development of new documentation to reflect evolving requirements; annual Regulatory Reporting, including compiling accurate reports, supplying relevant data, and preparing associated procedural documents
Collaborate across disciplines, from capital projects, regulation to future energy teams
What we are looking for
Strong numerical and mathematical ability, with a logical approach to problem-solving
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly
A team-player mindset, with the confidence to work independently when needed
High attention to detail and the ability to work accurately to tight deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with modelling tools (Falcon, Synergi, PRISM) is a bonus
Desirable - Understanding of the gas network, network modelling experience, degree-level education in a technical discipline
