Medico-Legal Assessor Role
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate professional to join our team as a Medico-Legal Assessor. In this role, you will play a crucial part in assessing the medical needs of customers and providing detailed reports to support their benefit claims.
About the Role
As a Medico-Legal Assessor, you will be responsible for conducting thorough assessments of customers' medical conditions, gathering clinical evidence, and producing accurate written reports. Your attention to detail, empathy, and strong communication skills will enable you to build trust with customers and provide them with the necessary support during a potentially challenging time.
* You will assess up to six customers per day, utilizing various assessment methods such as face-to-face, telephone, or video interviews.
* Your comprehensive reports will be passed on to the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP), who will make informed decisions regarding customers' benefits.
Training and Development

You will receive industry-leading guidance from experienced clinical tutors, allowing you to adapt your existing medical knowledge and skills to meet the demands of this role.
Full training lasts approximately six months and includes hands-on practice, feedback, and continuous support. Throughout this period, you will remain registered with your relevant healthcare profession and receive assistance with revalidation to maintain your registration.
Following successful completion of our comprehensive training program, you will have access to ongoing Continuous Professional Development (CPD) opportunities, which include over 100 hours of protected CPD time annually. Additionally, you will receive support with revalidation and have the chance to develop your career within our organization.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should possess a background in nursing, occupational therapy, paramedicine, or physiotherapy, with at least one year of experience working primarily with patients facing a wide range of clinical conditions. Proficiency in computer and IT skills is advantageous, as well as typing or keyboard skills with an ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
