Senior Clinical Psychologist Development Post
Full‑time 8a or 7‑8a development post (dependent on experience) in our neurodevelopment service, located in North Wales.
Job Overview
You will join a well‑established and diverse multidisciplinary team (MDT) that provides highly specialised neurodevelopmental assessments and support for neuro‑divergent children, young people and their families. The team works closely with local CAMHS, Intellectual Disability services and multi‑agency partners, and your specialist psychological input will be highly valued.
According to experience you will contribute to the supervision of colleagues, including assistant psychologists. You will also provide training and teaching, and support innovative service improvement activities including audit and service evaluation. This post is part of a vibrant Child Psychology team where quality improvement, supervision and ongoing professional development are highly valued.
Main Duties of the Job
* Undertake assessments and deliver appropriate therapeutic interventions, alongside care coordination.
* Promote psychological thinking and formulation within a multidisciplinary team; provide consultation to multi‑agency professionals and families.
* Provide supervision of others, deliver training, lead and develop services as part of this development role.
Qualifications
* Honours Degree in Psychology.
* Eligibility for Graduate membership of the British Psychological Society.
* Post‑graduate Doctoral qualification in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent accredited by the BPS).
* Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
Desirable Criteria
* Pre‑qualification training and qualifications in research methodology, staff training or other applied psychology fields.
* Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision.
Experience
* Assessed experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist, normally including significant post‑qualification experience within the designated speciality where the post is located, or relevant transferable skills.
* Demonstration of further specialist training/experience through extensive and demonstrable clinical supervision of working as a clinical psychologist or an alternative agreed by the Head of Clinical Psychology Services.
Development and Promotion
On commencing, a development plan will be agreed with a target timescale of six months to two years depending on current skills and experience. Regular clinical supervision will be provided by a Senior Clinical Psychologist. Promotion to a substantive 8a post will be achieved on fulfilling required competencies.
