SEND Learning Support Assistant (SEND Specialist Provision)

Milk Education is seeking caring, resilient, and dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistants to join outstanding SEND Specialist Provisions across the region. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about supporting children and young people with a wide range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, complex learning needs, physical disabilities, and communication difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with diverse SEND needs.
2. Assist learners with communication, emotional regulation, sensory needs, and personal development.
3. Support the implementation of personalised learning plans and tailored interventions.
4. Help create a calm, structured, and highly supportive learning environment.
5. Use a range of strategies, visuals, and communication tools (PECS, Makaton, sensory approaches).
6. Work closely with teachers, therapists, and wider support teams to ensure consistent, high-quality provision.
7. Encourage independence, confidence, and positive engagement in all activities.
Requirements:
8. Experience working with children or young people with SEND (school-based or transferable experience welcomed).
9. A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach.
10. Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
11. Ability to adapt to changing needs and environments within a specialist setting.
12. Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
13. Team player with a proactive, supportive attitude.
