Pharmacy Dispenser – Southampton Superstore
Location: Tesco Southampton, England, United Kingdom
Pay: £12.87 per hour (starting rate), £14.08 per hour inside M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location.
Minimum guaranteed hours: 16 per week (12 minimum). We offer flexibility to work fewer hours.
Availability
We need you available within the following windows. Hours will be scheduled within these times and you will be given three weeks’ notice of exact shift times:
* Sunday: 10:00 – 16:00
* Monday: 08:30 – 16:00
* Tuesday: 14:00 – 20:00
* Thursday: 14:00 – 20:00
* Friday: 14:00 – 20:00
About the role
Deliver a gold standard of customer service and patient care in a fast‑paced environment. You will work alongside experienced pharmacists and managers, receiving local management and leadership support.
Responsibilities
* Support the operation of our modern pharmacy.
* Use technical skills and strong customer focus to accurately dispense medication.
* Dispense prescription medicines with attention to detail.
* Engage with customers in a confident, friendly, and professional manner.
* Provide information on common ailments, symptoms, and products.
* Understand customer needs, explain product benefits, and sell appropriate products.
* Advise customers on available pharmacy services.
* Deliver pharmacy services and dispensing processes according to Standard Operating Procedures.
* Assess legal appropriateness of dispensed prescriptions.
* Handle clinical and legal queries from healthcare practitioners within competence.
* Respond to customer queries about prescription medicines and inform the pharmacist of complaints.
* Follow all dispensary routines and SOPs.
* Maintain cleanliness and order in dispensary and consulting rooms.
* Ensure timely and accurate prescription administration.
* Promote activities and company initiatives within the team.
* Carry out procedures accurately to protect profit and ensure safe & legal trading.
* Complete corporate and departmental training.
* Stay updated on legal and professional developments in pharmacy.
Qualifications and Experience
* Qualifications gained from working in a pharmacy environment.
* A desire to train and develop further in the pharmacy field.
