Location: Barrow in Furness (3 days per week on site)
Contract Details: £53.90 an hour, Umbrella, Inside IR35, initially a 12-month contract.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to work within one of the UK's leading Defence organisations based in Barrow in Furness.
Role Description
1. Work within the Plant Maintenance Operations Team (PM Ops).
2. Produce and coordinate technical information and programmes, including Process Instructions and new initiatives.
3. Communicate and plan effectively with stakeholders at all levels within the Submarines Business and external 3rd party service providers.
4. Manage your SAP EAM Work Centres, facilitate statutory inspections, and oversee planned & reactive 3rd party maintenance.
5. Control SAP EAM work orders, ensuring high-quality work details are accurately recorded.
6. Review and submit Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS), monitor compliance through internal audits.
7. Liaise with Security Team stakeholders for site access, escorting 3rd parties, and ensuring adherence to site security guidance.
8. Engage with 3rd Party Service Providers before work commencement to ensure Safe Systems of Work are in place and understood.
9. Deliver departmental processes and perform Asset Validation activities.
Knowledge
1. Experience in engineering, maintenance, or asset management environments.
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
4. Experience managing safe systems of work (SSOW).
5. Understanding of manufacturing processes within the business.
6. Knowledge of specialised analysis tools and their appropriate use.
7. Ability to identify issues within their area of responsibility.
8. Understanding of the context of their work within overall product development.
9. Trade background or equivalent experience (desirable).
Skills
1. Document management: creation, receipt, maintenance, disposal.
2. Support and guidance on Responsible Document Management.
3. Review of document management effectiveness.
4. Documentation production and maintenance review.
5. Coordination of major activities.
6. Interpretation of nuclear issues.
7. Understanding of HS&E requirements.
8. Project management skills.
9. Software administration.
