Offer description

Detailed job description and main responsibilities:

1. Provide monitoring information to senior managers of the Division on key financial data to support performance management.
2. Identify benchmarking opportunities and collaborate with the Division to implement service improvements.
3. Assist in preparing the Trust's monthly and year-end monitoring reports.
4. Lead the annual budget setting process with service managers to meet Division and Trust productivity and cost reduction targets.
5. Coordinate the production of accurate, relevant, and timely financial information to ensure targets are met, including detailed analysis to highlight key issues.
6. Provide financial management information, analysis, and advice to the Divisional Director, Heads of Service, and Budget Managers.
7. Oversee an effective budgetary control system, providing feedback to budget holders on financial performance to support year-end targets.
8. Assist in monitoring and recording CIPs and reconciling to Block contracts as needed.
9. Provide information for external reporting and statutory requirements.
10. Ensure the Divisional Finance Team delivers high-quality, timely, and accurate services.
11. Manage and develop the Division Finance Team, including appraisals, disciplinary procedures, and Personal Development Reviews.
12. Develop staff skills through training, ensuring ongoing progress and future needs are addressed.
13. Participate in recruitment and selection, adhering to Trust policies.

Person specification:


Qualifications

* A Level or equivalent qualifications
* CCAB qualified or equivalent experience
* Evidence of Continuing Professional Development


Experience

* At least 3 years in a large finance function
* Experience presenting complex financial data to senior managers
* Knowledge of financial procedures and NHS policies


Desirable criteria

* Senior Finance Management role in an NHS setting


Skills & Knowledge

* IT and spreadsheet proficiency
* Strong written and oral communication skills
* Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships
* Staff leadership and motivation skills
