An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, forward thinking rehabilitation assistant to work in the Adult Community Rehabilitation Team across both physical and neurological teams. The post holder will work with therapists providing rehabilitation to clients in the community .
The Adult Community Rehab Team is a large forward thinking service that provides inter-disciplinary rehabilitation to clients 18+. The team is split into two specialist branches (neurological conditions and physical conditions). ACRT consists of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech & Language Therapists, Dietitians, Clinical & Neuropsychology, Rehabilitation Assistants & Administrators. The team is supported by a Consultant Allied Health Professional, Consultant Neuropsychologist, a Consultant Neurologist, Parkinson’s disease Practitioner and MS Practitioner. The service is essentially community based; however there is opportunity to provide intervention in our onsite outpatient facilities. Therapeutic intervention is goal-directed, and you will be required to work flexibly as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Main duties of the job
This post will give you the opportunity to work alongside the therapists, carrying out a range of different treatment interventions as well as some assessment and administration duties. An understanding of the field of rehabilitation would be advantageous. This post would suit an individual who is interested and motivated in developing their skills in community based rehabilitation. The client group is very diverse, clinically, economically and culturally.

Education and Qualification
* GSCE or equivalent level grade C or above english and maths
* NVQ level 3 in Healthcare or equivalent experience
* Previous experience of working with clients in a rehabilitation setting
Skills/Abilites
* Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a range of people and be able to modify style of communication to suit the needs of the situation/person
* Ability to work independently and carry out directed tasks with clients in their own homes

Experience
