The Role We are currently seeking a resilient, caring and committed Teaching Assistant to join a primary SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) provision in Bournemouth on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to support children who may present with challenging behaviour linked to trauma, adverse childhood experiences, or unmet emotional needs. The provision offers a nurturing, structured and supportive environment focused on rebuilding trust, emotional regulation, and positive learning behaviours. You will play a vital role in helping pupils engage with learning, develop coping strategies, and build confidence both inside and outside the classroom. About the Provision The setting supports primary-aged pupils with a range of SEMH needs. The school places a strong emphasis on: Trauma-informed practice Emotional wellbeing and therapeutic support Positive behaviour strategies and consistent boundaries Individualised learning approaches Creating a safe, stable and inclusive environment Staff work collaboratively to ensure every child is understood, supported, and given the tools to succeed both academically and personally.
